Summary
The ServiceNow Technical Architect is responsible for directing both the strategic vision and hands-on execution of ServiceNow platform consulting and implementation efforts. Serving as a vital link between business stakeholders and technical teams, this role translates business objectives into scalable, sustainable platform solutions, while managing governance, platform health, upgrade planning, and developer enablement. The Technical Architect leads delivery with the support of ServiceNow Developers and Business Process Consultants and Analysts, all under the guidance of the ServiceNow Delivery Executive.
Key Responsibilities



  • Strategy and Advisory

    • Define and guide technical governance, platform architecture standards, health metrics, upgrade planning, and long-term roadmaps for platform sustainability.



  • Leadership, Mentoring & Workshops

    • Lead and mentor development teams and business process experts, fostering best practices in coding, solution design, and stakeholder engagement.

    • Facilitate workshops for requirements gathering and architectural alignment to ensure technical solutions map to business needs.



  • Business-Value Thinking & Communication

    • Translate complex technical designs into business-focused value and ROI, demonstrating how design architectural decisions support objectives and upgrade readiness.

    • Align deliverables to measurable business outcomes, driving stakeholder understanding and solution viability.



  • Governance & Platform Health Metrics

    • Monitor platform health indicators, assess technical debt, lead remediation initiatives, and enforce leading practices to sustain platform quality.



  • Upgrade Strategy & Documentation

    • Develop and execute upgrade strategies that minimize business disruption, while documenting architecture, runbooks, and operational models.




We are seeking candidates with experience in:



  • Delivering hands-on expertise in one or more ServiceNow module suites: CSM, ITSM, ITAM & CMDB, ITOM, Now Assist, FSM, SPM, SecOps, or IRM.

  • Integrating ServiceNow with third-party systems using SOAP and REST APIs for data exchange and process automation.

  • Implementing core integration components such as LDAP, SSO, Discovery, and MID Server to enable seamless connectivity and automation.

  • Ensuring ServiceNow implementations deliver solutions that meet contracted requirements and obligations.

  • Customizing ServiceNow through advanced configurations and scripting to enable tailored functionality.

  • Organizing and prioritizing development activities, interfacing effectively with stakeholders, and providing timely project updates to management.

  • Designing user-intuitive catalog items and developing orchestration workflows, including Content Management and Web Services integration.

  • Communicating technical tradeoffs in business terms and leading governance initiatives for solution alignment and risk mitigation.

  • Providing leadership through developer mentorship and by facilitating technical and architectural workshops.

  • Demonstrating proficiency in programming standards, methodologies, and languages, while maintaining detailed technical documentation.


Requirements



  • At least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.

  • 5+ years of ServiceNow consulting and implementation (C&I) expertise, including domain separation (a plus) and complex integrations.

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (such as Business Rules, UI Pages, and UI Macros).

  • Experience deploying new ServiceNow instances and implementing new modules within existing environments.

  • Certifications: Certified Technical Architect (CTA) preferred; one or more of the following are also strongly valued-Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in two or more tracks, and ITIL Foundation (v3 or v4)

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent professional ServiceNow experience.
