Position Summary:

The Staff Software Development Engineer will be part of the center of excellence team for building the platform for implementing enterprise integration layer & microservices. In this role candidate responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and managing the design and development of various software application projects to meet business needs and ensure proper execution for the enterprise. The Staff Software Development Engineer will also execute and lead application development projects to address the business system changes catering to enterprise; manage project execution to ensure adherence to schedule and scope; determine feasibility of projects, including solutions design and prepare technical design documentation; and plan stages of application development to improve functionality and features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.

The right candidate will also coordinate activities of project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project; confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems; monitor progress milestones and deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams on applications development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices. The Staff Software Development Engineer will build trusted relationships across organization & not limited to business, business analysts, enterprise architects, designers, developers, testers & support team to ensure optimal solution delivery.

As a Staff Software Development Engineer, you will:
  • Lead with a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues to deliver a quality project on time and within budget, oversee and support the coaching and training of team members to ensure all necessary employees are confident in the use of software applications, collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software
  • Lead & facilitates status, discussions, which includes attending and/or conducting regular staff meetings
  • Collaborate with various technical teams, Architects & designers along with Development & Infrastructure teams. Collaborating with IBM (Vendor Partners) partners as required around the product
  • Have experience delivering comprehensive communications to management regarding the status and activities of the team both in written and presentation form, communicate easily with tech and non-tech teams, individuals and managers about your technology vision and how this creates value for them
  • Have experience leading multiple concurrent IT projects with varying degree of complexities, technologies and priorities, while meeting deadlines
  • Possess a desire to work in a team setting and an excitement to share knowledge and ideas with others

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of IT experience with strong application development or engineering experience in an Information Systems environment, as part of large teams undertaking and overseeing technical work and mentoring junior team members
  • 7+ years of experience in strong application development or engineering background as Sr. Software Engineer / Architect / Consultant
  • 5+ years of experience working in mid-large onshore + offshore teams building applications or platforms
  • 5+ years of experience around IBM Middleware like ACE, cp4i, IIB with Healthcare domain knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in working closely with various client facing role at onsite with geographically diversified delivery team
  • Exposure to technologies such as WXS, Mark Logic, ODM, Microservices/ Java and understand the way it works
  • Experience in Maintenance project with release management & incident management lifecycle
  • Understand Infra & platform side of technology/ concepts related to middleware

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with middleware / data integration pipelines / platforms
  • Experience operating in distributed environments including cloud (OpenShift, Azure, Google, etc.)
  • Experience working via an agile, sprint-based working style
  • Experience working side-by-side with business owners, and translating business needs into microservices based solutions
  • Ability to successfully balance near-term results (e.g., ability to design and execute on a 'MVP' model), with long-term goals

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience.)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
