Job Details

Really looking for somone with a Strategy and Operational background for this, someone with tech start up expertise would be great.  This is a Microsoft Shop(Not mandatory but it would be a direct fit).

Summary:          

The Director, IT Infrastructure Strategy is responsible for the providing the vision, leadership, implementation success, and maintenance of the organization's overall information technology infrastructure, business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan in conjunction with the Director, IT Infrastructure. This position is responsible for driving IT governance, financial management, human resources, service and architecture planning, infrastructure and operations, security and risk management, project portfolio management, and the necessary infrastructure to support our applications, data and business intelligence tools. The Director, IT Infrastructure Strategy, is responsible for providing the necessary technical infrastructure for the development of new infrastructure technologies and system requirements. They must possess a demonstrable knowledge of system administration and software development. The Director, IT Infrastructure Strategy, must be able to work in coordination with the business areas and attend to their computing needs and requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies and policies aligned with business goals. 
  • Establish IT governance frameworks to ensure IT initiatives meet business objectives.
  • Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting to optimize value and ROI. Provide review and approval for all IT related purchases and oversee the procurement process.
  • Recruit, hire, manage and develop IT Infrastructure staff, vendors, and consultants to build a high-performing technology organization.
  • Architect enterprise IT systems and infrastructure to be scalable, resilient, and secure.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure project portfolio ensuring strategic alignment and on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Lead IT security and risk management programs to protect systems, data, and operations.
  • Advise Funds leaders on emerging technologies and provide technology perspectives on new initiatives.
  • Support applications, data analytics and business intelligence systems to enable data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and ensure IT delivers innovative solutions.
  • Stay current on IT and industry trends, risk landscape and innovative technologies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or required.
  • The position is expected to be on call 24/7.
  • The position requires that major projects sometimes be coordinated/completed outside of normal business hours – evenings and weekends.
  • The position requires occasional travel for visits to remote sites and/or designated disaster recovery locations.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 10+ years of IT leadership experience with a proven record of developing and implementing IT strategy.
  • Expert knowledge of IT governance, security, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong technology project management, vendor management and budget oversight experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to translate technology capabilities into business value.
  • Experience leading, developing, and motivating teams of technology professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively developing, communicating, and implementing strategic objectives.
  • Knowledge of Cloud-Service SLAs and vendor management, reporting applications, monitoring tools, system configuration best practices, network and security credentials systems, Microsoft Office, cloud services including SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, disaster recovery and business continuity best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with data center, network design, and application services and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply best practices in project management and timely deliverables, and the ability to prioritize projects and manage resources.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a wide range of personalities within all levels of the Funds.
  • Demonstrated ability to be forward-thinking and innovative while understanding business needs and the limitations of business processes and technologies.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements to enable support staff success in meeting the expectations of the business areas.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to evaluate alternatives and drive to solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices, and ability to use them in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
  • Decisions have significant, broad implications for the management and operations of the IT Department. Position contributes to decisions on the overall strategy and direction of the Funds’ technology.
  • Problems are highly varied, complex, and often non-recurring; require novel and creative approaches to resolution. New concepts and approaches may have to be developed.
  • Results are defined; incumbent sets own goals and determines how to accomplish results with few or no guidelines to follow, although precedents may exist; supervisor provides broad guidance and overall direction.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS, MIS, IT, Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.

 

Language Skills:  Speak, read, write, and understand English.

Reasoning Ability:  High

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  PMP Certification, preferred.
