Job Title: Business Analyst 2 Configuration Manager
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid Onsite 2 3 days/week)
Duration: Long-term Contract Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with strong expertise in Configuration Management to join our IT Service Management (ITSM) team. This role will focus on analyzing and aligning business processes and configuration management practices to support the goals of a large public sector IT environment.

The successful candidate will have experience performing business analysis tasks while overseeing Configuration Management activities, including maintaining a CMDB, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with ITIL practices

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and evaluate business systems and user requirements to align with organizational IT strategies.
  • Document business process workflows and identify opportunities for process reengineering and system improvements.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management plans, processes, and policies in alignment with ITIL standards.
  • Manage and maintain Configuration Items (CIs) and ensure data integrity within the CMDB.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, application, operations, and ITSM teams to ensure consistency and compliance across all CIs.
  • Conduct regular configuration audits to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established configuration plans.
  • Identify risks and present solution options, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI, and buy/build recommendations.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to facilitate successful implementation of CM strategies.
  • Support the implementation, operation, and maintenance of CMDB tools (e.g., BMC Helix, ServiceNow, Atlassian).
