About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a contingent basis. In this role, you will consult on complex, large-scale software engineering initiatives, contributing to strategic planning, architecture, and execution. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve multifaceted challenges and deliver high-impact solutions that align with business goals and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and consult on complex software engineering projects with broad organizational impact.
• Analyze and resolve large-scale, multi-dimensional technical challenges.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliverables.
• Design and implement scalable, cloud-native microservices using modern frameworks and tools.
• Drive automation, testing, and DevOps best practices across the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, risk management, and change control processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent experience through work, consulting, military service, or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/Spring Data JPA, and Python.
• Front-end development experience with React.js, Redux, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Jest/Cypress.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) and Relational Databases (e.g., Oracle).
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture using Kafka and Redis/GemFire for distributed caching.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Azure, PCF, or OpenShift.
• Expertise in Domain-Driven Design and building cloud-native microservices.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber, BlazeMeter, JMeter).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Jenkins, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of WebRTC, performance testing, and chaos engineering.
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, Go, PowerShell, and Gherkin.
• Experience in Agile development environments, including Agile at scale and continuous discovery.
• Understanding of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and enterprise change management processes.
• Experience with Blue-Green Deployment strategies.
