Collins Aerospace is seeking a Lavatories 3.0 Program Chief Engineer for our Lavatories Engineering team in Everett, WA. This Chief Engineering role allows you to oversee a team of 5-10 Project Engineers (Systems Integration Project Team Leads), and support the development and qualification efforts for the Lavs 3.0 program. As Chief Engineer, both breadth and depth of technical experience as essential. The Chief Engineer will need to demonstrate the capability to develop and govern the execution of product development.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead technical execution of lavatory programs, ensuring project requirements are accurately decomposed and fully addressed.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and risk to drive successful program outcomes, including support for bids and proposals.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of SIPT Lead engineers, providing coaching, training, and fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Drive design-to-cost (DTC) initiatives, balancing performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct and oversee trade studies, using data-driven analysis to guide decisions and optimize outcomes.
  • Champion process maturity and continuous improvement, including implementation of robust change management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with program management, design, V&V, and other teams to ensure reliable and elegant solutions.
  • Develop and implement standard work instructions, optimizing for both completeness and efficiency.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop engineering talent, supporting long-term team capability and performance.
  • Travel up to 10% as required to support program execution and team coordination.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Proven Project Engineering or comparable technical field
  • Strong systems or requirement compliance background
  • Program Management Skills like IMS Development, Earned Value Experience, etc.
  • Aerospace and aircraft experience
  • Certification experience including working with FAA, EASA, and designated representatives is a plus

The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
