It is preferred that this individual report to the Wilmington, DE office location. If we struggle to locate candidates in the DE market, the customer will consider Urbandale, IA as well. However, DE is strongly preferred. This will be a mid-senior level resource. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ansible Automation Engineer to join our team. This mid-senior level role requires deep expertise in Ansible, specifically Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), and the ability to develop and manage infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, VMware, networking, and virtual machine provisioning. Key Responsibilities: Ansible Expertise: - Develop, manage, and optimize Ansible playbooks and pipelines. Must have comprehensive knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Ansible Core. - Infrastructure as Code: Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code solutions. Provision and decommission virtual machines (VMs) throughout their lifecycle. Linux Administration: - Administer and manage Linux environments, including building and configuring platforms. VMware and Networking: - Understand and manage VMware environments and networking configurations. Platform Management: - Oversee the Ansible infrastructure, including upgrades and maintenance. Manage a current environment consisting of 6-7 VMs. Collaboration: - Work closely with the automation community within the organization to understand existing configurations and provide support. Initial Focus (First 30, 60, 90 Days): 30 Days: Focus on Ansible automation, understanding current configurations, and collaborating with team members. 60 Days: Deep dive into existing infrastructure, work on playbooks, and start provisioning and decommissioning VMs. 90 Days: Manage software configurations on VMs, optimize automation processes, and ensure smooth operation of the Ansible environment. Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Ansible Core. Must have built and managed Ansible environments. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Linux administration, VMware, networking, and virtual machine provisioning. Development Skills: Ability to develop infrastructure as code and automate processes using Ansible. Windows Background: Familiarity with Windows platforms is a plus, as it can provide foundational expertise for transitioning to Linux environments. Preferred Skills: VM Building: Experience in building and managing virtual machines. Networking: Understanding of networking principles and configurations. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with a team and provide support to colleagues in the automation community.
