Job Details
- Coordinates OS version upgrades, software fixes, and preventative maintenance to minimize risk and service disruptions
- Performs installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and administration of iSeries/AS400 operating systems and hardware
- Resolves issues and implements projects at an advanced technical level regarding iSeries/DB2 as it is connected to by other Databases
- Works to ensure user satisfaction by providing installation, configuration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolving complex problems
- Resolves availability, capacity, and performance issues
- Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
- Monitor MIMIX audits and resolve issues as needed
- Perform scheduled role-swap test using MIMIX
- Acts as a liaison between internal and external user communities
- Collaborates with application support staff and DBAs to ensure external databases can connect to the DB2 database.
- Create Aldon audit reports as requested by the auditing team
- Collaborates with application support staff to perform Aldondeployments to non-production environments
- Collaborates with application support staff to perform Aldon application deployments to production environment with approved Change Requests
- Perform quarterly USPS database (PerZip) updates
- Perform iSeries technical support and expertise to resolve issues (e.g. printers, devices, backups, etc)
- Collaborate with different teams to analyze and resolve issues with the agents installed on the iSeries LPARs
- May act as team leader on projects
- Provides after-hours and weekend support as needed
- Create SOP's as needed
