Role: Project Manager

Location: Miramar,FL (onsite)

Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Overall Project Delivery:
    • Drive end-to-end delivery of strategic projects from inception to delivery and support.
    • Partner closely with IT and business leaders, including project, program, and executive sponsors, as well as all IT groups.
    • Define project objectives, create plans to achieve them, and track progress against objectives and budgets.
    • Lead execution of key projects and programs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Coach project team members and improve project management processes.
    • Provide overall coordination, status reporting, and stability for project-oriented work efforts.
    • Establish and improve project management processes and methodologies for IT organization.
  • Strategy (20%):
    • Provide strategic input to IT and Southern leadership on projects and programs.
    • Act as a thought leader within the IT organization to streamline and standardize business processes across Southern s divisions and functions.
    • Work with business leadership to clearly document business problems or opportunities addressed with IT services and their alignment with the business plan.
    • Incorporate best practices into the IT organization, particularly in project/program management.
  • Execution (60%):
    • Successfully manage and execute projects on schedule and within budget.
    • Ensure in-scope, on-schedule, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of IT programs and projects in the portfolio.
    • Follow and exemplify consistent project management practices, processes, and metrics.
    • Develop business-language presentations for senior leadership to aid in decision-making and issue resolution.
    • Maintain, socialize, and enforce the project management lifecycle across Southern.
    • Collaborate with the VP IT, IT leaders, and executives on key decision-making during project execution.
  • Building Capabilities (20%):
    • Mentor, coach, and encourage excellence from IT teams.
    • Continuously retool and upgrade personal skills and knowledge in both Southern s business and cutting-edge IT solutions.
    • Stay up-to-date with best practices in program/project management and serve as a key source of expertise when needed.
