Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role will work closely with production, quality, and design teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimization:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, workflows, and equipment layouts.
Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
Reduce waste and improve efficiency using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Production Support:
Provide technical support to production teams for troubleshooting and process-related issues.
Ensure manufacturing equipment is maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.
Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and corrective actions.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure processes comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Work with quality teams to investigate and resolve non-conformance issues.
Implement process control systems to maintain consistent quality.
Cost & Efficiency Management:
Conduct cost analysis to identify savings opportunities in materials, labor, and production processes.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and consistency.
New Product Introduction (NPI):
Collaborate with R&D and design engineers to transition products from prototype to production.
Develop manufacturing plans, tooling, and equipment for new products.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 2 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering (entry-level roles may require internships/co-ops).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data analysis.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
Experience in automation and robotics integration.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other industry-specific quality standards.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Office and factory floor environment.
May require standing, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
