Job Details

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Product Owner plays a pivotal role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering IAM capabilities that enable secure, compliant, and user-friendly access across the enterprise.
This individual will own the IAM product roadmap, translating business needs and compliance requirements into actionable deliverables that enhance the organization s overall security posture.

Serving as the bridge between business stakeholders, cybersecurity, and technical teams, the Product Owner ensures the IAM suite evolves to meet the dynamic demands of security, compliance, and user experience.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM).
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Deep understanding of IAM technologies: SSO, MFA, user provisioning, directory services (Active Directory, Azure AD), and identity platforms (Okta, SailPoint IIQ/IdentityNow/Security Cloud).
  • Methodology: Strong familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and backlog management.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and maintain the IAM product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with enterprise security goals and business priorities.
  • Lead modernization initiatives by transitioning from legacy IAM systems to modern, automated, cloud-based solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and enhanced compliance.
  • Monitor industry trends and evolving technologies to continuously mature IAM capabilities.

Backlog Ownership & Prioritization

  • Own, define, and prioritize the IAM product backlog based on strategic objectives, risk reduction, and business value.
  • Develop clear, concise user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
  • Balance competing priorities and make informed trade-offs to maximize product value delivery.
  • Maintain transparency of backlog priorities and progress across all stakeholder groups.

Agile Delivery & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the IAM Agile team, ensuring alignment on product goals and sprint priorities.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning).
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and QA teams to refine backlog items and ensure readiness for development.
  • Review and approve deliverables to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria and product vision.

Stakeholder Communication & Engagement

  • Communicate IAM product vision, roadmap, and release progress to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from key stakeholders such as IT operations, HR, compliance, and security.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment across diverse organizational priorities.

Risk, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure IAM solutions comply with SOX and NERC-CIP regulations and enterprise security policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on identity lifecycle management, privileged access management (PAM), and authentication technologies.
  • Support access certification campaigns, entitlement reviews, and audit readiness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams on risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
