Summary:
The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management of multi-cloud infrastructure, from initial design and engineering to deployment and ongoing optimization. This includes the implementation, configuration, and continuous capacity planning of cloud resources, applications, and services, with a strong emphasis on FinOps principles to ensure cost efficiency and accountability. As a seasoned individual contributor, you will possess expert knowledge in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure), cloud architecture patterns, infrastructure as code (laC), and CI/CD pipelines. You will play a pivotal role on project teams, guiding, directing, and mentoring junior cloud professionals, while ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud environments. Your focus on cost optimization, resource tagging, and cloud spend analysis will be crucial in driving efficient cloud operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively with development teams, architects, security teams, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, design cloud-native solutions, and ensure seamless integration of applications with the cloud infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions across multi-cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Lead laC development using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate cloud resource management, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable application and infrastructure deployment in cloud environments.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud spending by identifying inefficiencies and implementing cost-saving measures, along with developing reporting mechanisms.
  • Enforce security best practices and compliance with industry to protect cloud environments and data integrity.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in multiple disciplines related to cloud technologies, with expertise in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
  • Proven experience with laC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, alongside hands-on expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks, ensuring secure cloud environments.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell) and experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues, optimize performance, and ensure high availability of critical systems.
  • Deep understanding of core cloud components across multi-cloud Platforms.
  • Hand-on experience in Cloud networking technologies (vpc, security groups. direct connect, subnets, load balancers, route 53, Aviatrix, deep understanding of data transfer cost, use of VPN, Transit Gateways, etc. )
  • Drive FinOps best practices by continuously monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cloud spend.
  • Guide, direct, and mentor junior cloud engineers, encouraging continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
  • Ability to provide advanced troubleshooting and Tier 3 support for complex cloud-related issues, leading incident response and problem management to minimize downtime and quickly restore services.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $69.00 - $70.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid days off, 401(k) plan participation, commuter benefits and life and disability insurance.
