Hi,

Position: DataStage Developer
Location: Columbus, OH / Akron, OH / Detroit, MI Columbus OH is the preference for location.
Duration: 6+ month contract to hire

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using IBM DataStage to support data integration and transformation needs.
    • Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation, and integration with ETL workflows.
    • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
    • Write and optimize SQL queries for Snowflake and other relational databases.
    • Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts and Python scripts to support ETL automation and job scheduling.
    • Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis for data-related issues.
    • Support change management processes, including documentation and deployment of code changes.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and data flow diagrams.
    • Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • 4+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage development.
    • Strong experience with Python for data processing and automation.
    • Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.
    • Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
    • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
    • Experience with incident and change management processes (ITIL framework preferred).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
    • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
    • Exposure to data quality, data lineage, and metadata management tools.
