Type: Contract (C), Contract-to-Hire (CTH), or Direct Hire (D) 12m contract
Pay Rate / Salary: $90 -$115/hr

Job Description

The Workday Core HCM & Security Configuration Lead serves as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Core Human Capital Management (HCM) and Security configuration. In a co-lead role within the HCM stream, this consultant ensures alignment on design decisions, oversees business process configurations, and manages the Workday security model in close collaboration with HR and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to gather requirements and configure Workday Core HCM processes and security components, ensuring alignment with Workday best practices.
  • Lead design workshops and documentation efforts for core HR processes; translate business requirements into effective Workday configurations.
  • Oversee and configure Workday security setup (roles, security groups, domain policies) to maintain proper access controls and compliance.
  • Develop and execute a configuration work plan for the HCM/Security workstream, including managing configuration tasks, unit testing, and supporting user acceptance testing and end-user training.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration or security issues during the project lifecycle, providing expert guidance on Workday functionality and limitations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Core HCM & Security configuration, coordinating with other functional leads to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 8+ years of HRIS/HCM implementation experience, with at least 5 years focused on Workday HCM (end-to-end implementations).
  • Workday HCM and Workday Security certification(s) strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in Workday Core HCM business process configuration and security administration.
  • Proven ability to lead a functional workstream on large-scale implementations, including managing junior analysts and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge technical teams and HR business leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in configuring complex HR workflows and security models.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
