We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support for end users in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and administrative systems, supporting both patient care and hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other end-user hardware.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and hospital-specific applications (e.g., EHR/EMR systems like Epic, Cerner).
- Respond to service requests and incidents via the hospital's ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Support clinical staff with workstation and device issues in patient care areas, including nurses' stations, exam rooms, and labs.
- Maintain and update asset inventory records for all IT equipment.
- Assist with hardware deployments, upgrades, and relocations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital IT security policies.
- Collaborate with network, server, and application teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of desktop support experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and clinical workflows is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work in a clinical environment, including patient care areas.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and travel between hospital departments or satellite locations.
Preferred Certifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- ITIL Foundation (a plus)
