Business Systems Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Architect to join our client's fast-growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to lead enterprise-level financial system solutions and contribute to impactful projects in a mission-driven environment. You'll be responsible for architecting scalable Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) solutions and optimizing core financial processes while working cross-functionally with both business and technical teams.
Responsibilities:

• Solution Architecture:
  Lead the design and implementation of financial solutions within D365 FO. Conduct fit-gap analyses, minimize customizations, and ensure system integrations align with broader business goals (e.g., revenue recognition, tax compliance, financial consolidation, reporting).
• Business Process Optimization:
  Partner with finance stakeholders to assess and automate processes in GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Project Accounting, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Project Delivery:
  Manage end-to-end project lifecycle-from requirements gathering and solution design to go-live and support-ensuring timely and quality delivery.
• Collaboration:
  Work with solution architects, business analysts, developers, and finance leaders to deliver effective, user-friendly solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Serve as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, keeping them informed on system capabilities and recommending enhancements or industry best practices.
• Audit & Reporting:
  Partner with internal audit and finance teams to ensure financial data integrity. Design dashboards and reports for decision-makers.
• Training & Mentorship:
  Train end-users and mentor functional analysts. Create documentation to support ongoing user education and system efficiency.
• Leadership & M&A Support:
  Be the primary point of contact for D365 FO finance-related matters. Lead financial systems efforts in support of M&A activity.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Stay up to date with Microsoft D365 features and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO), particularly in financial modules.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, financial consolidations, intercompany trade, and currency revaluation.
• Experience in configuring legal entities, financial dimensions, and account structures.
• Strong electronic reporting and experience with tools like Management Reporter.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in Agile/Scrum environments. Experience with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, and SharePoint is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for process optimization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with executive-level finance stakeholders.
• Experience integrating D365 FO with enterprise and legacy systems.
• Preferred: D365 Finance certifications, Power Platform, and Azure experience.
