7+ years of experience working in an Enterprise Level Cisco environment
Experience with Switch/Router IOSs, including the physical equipment
Strong performance monitoring and configuration management tools experience
Experience working with IP address management tools such as IP-Control or IP-Plan
Experience with bandwidth analysis, trace routing, TCP/IP Protocol stack etc.
Strong Juniper and Arista IOS experience
Ability to install, configure, and maintain Cisco, Juniper, and Foundry IP network switches and routers
Strong knowledge of IP networks and IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6) (sub-netting, broadcast, multi-cast)
Experience working with Ethernet packet analyzers/sniffers such as Wireshark
Knowledge of packet loss, crosstalk, BER, ISO model
Understanding of WANs, LANs, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls
Experience with BGP/OSPF/SPT routing protocols and route policies/Class maps/ACL s and prefix list
Knowledge of multicast IGMPv2/IGMPv3/PIM and DSCP / traffic shaping and policing
Knowledge of optical equipment and characteristics such as CWDM, DWDM, single mode, multi-mode, SFPs GBICs etc.
Proficient working with Load Balancers
Experience administering IP and/or server networks (DNS, TFTP, TOD, DHCP, NAT)
Ability to configure multicast video and data transport devices
Working experience with Cable modems, eMTAs, and STBs
Must have good communication skills, working in teams and as an individual contributor
Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms and communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, professional and pleasant manner.
Experience working in CO, Headend and /or NOC environments
Experience administering Cisco CNR or BACC
**CCNP network certification a plus
