About the Role

Our Client, which is a private University, is seeking a skilled and bilingual LMS System Administrator to join our team, with a strong preference for candidates based in Puerto Rico. This role is critical in maintaining and optimizing our learning management system infrastructure to support our educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain our Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard Ultra, or D2L)
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for students, faculty, and staff
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LMS-related issues
  • Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, and training materials in both English and Spanish
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to optimize course design and delivery
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular maintenance, and implement updates
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with educational standards and regulations
  • Generate reports and analytics on system usage and student engagement
  • Lead training sessions for faculty and staff on LMS features and best practices
  • Integrate third-party tools and applications with the LMS platform
  • Coordinate with IT teams on infrastructure requirements and system integrations

Required Qualifications

  • Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is mandatory
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience administering at least one of the following LMS platforms: Canvas, Blackboard Ultra, or D2L
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of educational technology and online learning best practices
  • Experience with user management, course creation, and system configuration
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and providing user support
  • Knowledge of SCORM, LTI, and other e-learning standards
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Location: Candidates based in Puerto Rico are strongly preferred
  • Experience with multiple LMS platforms
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management
  • Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with API integrations and automation tools
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
  • Project management experience
  • Teaching or instructional design background

Location

Remote position with strong preference for candidates residing in Puerto Rico. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or training sessions.
