Job Title: Banner Technical Analyst
Location: Oak Brook, IL
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Banner Technical Analyst with deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience supporting Ellucian Banner systems in higher education or enterprise environments. This role involves system administration, database querying, troubleshooting integrations, and supporting ERP processes. The ideal candidate is both technically skilled and an excellent communicator, able to collaborate with stakeholders and resolve complex issues independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and system administration for Ellucian Banner, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and patch management.
Collaborate with functional teams and users to resolve issues and improve ERP system performance.
Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts and queries for Oracle databases.
Manage Linux-based servers (preferably RHEL) for Banner and related applications.
Automate routine tasks through scripting and support high availability of critical systems.
Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
Document procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps clearly and concisely.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven expertise with Ellucian Banner, including support, upgrades, and integrations.
Strong Linux system administration skills (e.g., RHEL), including scripting and automation.
Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL and Oracle database environments.
Experience with technical troubleshooting across Banner and third-party integrated systems.
Understanding of ERP data structures and integration methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with non-technical users.
Self-driven with excellent time management and documentation practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM) and independent patch/upgrade management.
Knowledge of Ethos Integration and Ellucian SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
Exposure to higher education third-party tools such as Degree Works, Slate, Automic/UC4.
Experience using Eclipse IDE for Banner development or customization.
Understanding of Identity Management systems (LDAP, Active Directory, SAML).
Experience managing SSL certificates within Banner environments.
