Job Description: Performance Test Engineer IBM Sterling OMS

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer with hands-on experience in testing enterprise-grade Order Management Systems (OMS), specifically IBM Sterling OMS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and analysing performance tests to ensure the stability, scalability, and responsiveness of the OMS platform under load.

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer with hands-on experience in testing enterprise-grade Order Management Systems (OMS), specifically IBM Sterling OMS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and analysing performance tests to ensure the stability, scalability, and responsiveness of the OMS platform under load.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios for Sterling OMS workflows.
- Simulate high-load environments to assess system performance during peak traffic (e.g., sales events).
- Execute load, stress, soak, and spike tests on Sterling OMS and integrated systems.
- Analyse performance test results, identify bottlenecks (DB, JMS, APIs, etc.), and recommend optimizations.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure, and DevOps to tune system performance.
- Monitor application health using tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
- Generate performance test reports and provide clear performance KPIs and SLA compliance data.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling).
- Strong knowledge of IBM Sterling OMS architecture and API workflows.
- Experience in monitoring and profiling tools: JVM, Garbage Collection (GC), DB metrics, thread analysis.
- Good knowledge of SOAP/REST APIs, JSON, XML formats.
- Familiarity with JMS queues, Kafka, IBM MQ, and async processing performance testing.
- Understanding of OMS business processes like order creation, fulfilment, inventory, returns.
- Proficiency with SQL for DB performance analysis.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration (Jenkins, Git, etc.) is a plus.
