Location: Kansas City, MO - Onsite

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Network Engineer with a strong foundation in both network administration and systems administration to join a dynamic and collaborative IT team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is eager to take ownership of projects involving new and emerging technologies.

What You'll Do:
Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation).
Support and administer Windows and/or Linux-based systems, including patching, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
Lead IT infrastructure projects from concept to completion, often involving unfamiliar or cutting-edge technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Maintain documentation for systems, networks, and processes to support operational continuity and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in network and systems administration roles.
Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, routers, and network segmentation.
Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
Certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
