World Wide Technology is looking for a Data Center Technician. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $35.00 to $40.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay

Data Center Technician

Decatur, IL, USA

  • Deploys data center-related end-to-end technologies. Monitors, tests, capacity plans, preventive maintenance, repairs of data center equipment and associated electrical, alarms, and monitors systems per vendor specifications at the enterprise data centers.
  • Performs hardware installation & decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure
  • Troubleshoots and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure
  • Racks and stacks of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems and other equipment
  • Racks installation includes putting racks in place, cables, power up and hand off of servers to internal provisioning teams
  • Monitors of data center environments using monitoring tools
  • Documents and modifies standard operating procedures for the data center
  • Supports the inventory process by keeping track of order replacement parts and return failed parts as required
  • Installs structured cabling, performs labelling, and troubleshooting of fiber, copper, and telecom cables
  • Manages system power supply and ensures uninterrupted power supply inside the data center
