An OpenText BizManager EDI API Architect designs, implements, and maintains the overall architecture for an organization's B2B integrations, with a specific focus on APIs and OpenText's BizManager suite. This role combines traditional EDI knowledge with modern API technology to create robust, scalable, and secure data exchange solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Architectural design: Lead the design and development of end-to-end integration solutions involving OpenText BizManager, EDI, and APIs. This includes creating architectural and solutions design documents.
- API integration: Plan and execute API-based automation and integration strategies to connect with enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other business applications.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, development teams, and external trading partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- System analysis and migration: Analyze existing EDI and API systems, troubleshoot issues, and oversee the migration and implementation of EDI services, potentially moving from a legacy platform to an OpenText Managed Services cloud platform.
- Trading partner management: Oversee the onboarding of new trading partners, including communication setup and testing.
- Technical support: Provide support for complex technical issues, system performance tuning, and implementation best practices.
- Documentation and governance: Document architectural decisions, API specifications, and governance standards to ensure consistency and maintainability across the API and EDI portfolio.
- Security and compliance: Ensure that API and EDI architectures comply with industry standards and security best practices for secure data exchange.
Required technical skills and qualifications
- OpenText expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with OpenText BizManager and other B2B/EDI products like BizLink, Application Integrator (AI), Trading Grid, Trusted Link, and Managed Services.
- API proficiency: Strong experience with API development, integration, security, and governance.
- EDI standards: In-depth knowledge of EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, and JSON.
- Communication protocols: Expertise in connectivity protocols like AS2, SFTP, FTP, FTPS, and SOAP.
- Programming/scripting: Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Shell, Python, Perl, or Java is often required for automation and troubleshooting.
- Database knowledge: Experience with databases, including SQL/NoSQL.
- Cloud experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), especially for organizations utilizing OpenText's cloud services.
Methodology: Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
