Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Teradata Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize Teradata environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in large-scale enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities-
- Install, configure, and upgrade Teradata Database systems.
- Manage Teradata utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT) for data loading and extraction.
- Perform performance tuning, workload management, and query optimization.
- Monitor system health, capacity planning, and implement proactive measures.
- Manage space allocation, user access, and security controls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies using Teradata tools.
- Collaborate with development teams for schema design and query optimization.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and best practices.
Required Skills-
- Strong experience in Teradata Database Administration (5+ years).
- Proficiency in Teradata tools and utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT).
- Expertise in SQL and query optimization.
- Knowledge of Teradata Workload Management (TASM).
- Familiarity with Teradata Viewpoint, monitoring, and alerting.
- Experience with backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
Preferred Skills-
- Exposure to Teradata Data Mover, BAR (Backup Archive Restore).
- Knowledge of cloud-based Teradata solutions.
- Experience with BI tools and integration.
Education-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldeye
