Sr. IT EPIC Analyst- PB (Professional Billing)

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. IT Epic Analyst specializing in Professional Billing to join our healthcare technology team. This position requires a certified Epic Professional Billing expert with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Epic systems. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing revenue cycle operations by optimizing Epic functionality, supporting physician billing, and driving the creation of a Single Billing Office (SBO) model. A strong focus on workflow design, system configuration, and end-user support is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced Epic Professional Billing support across all aspects of the revenue cycle, including charge capture, coding, claims processing, and denials management.
  • Build, configure, and optimize Epic work queues (WQs) to streamline billing and follow-up processes.
  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders to design efficient, scalable Epic workflows tailored to physician billing and clinical needs.
  • Lead and participate in workflow analysis sessions, creating documentation and visual diagrams to support process improvement.
  • Support the planning and implementation of a Single Billing Office (SBO) by integrating best practices across hospital and professional billing teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Epic system functionality, releases, upgrades, and training needs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for billing issues and work with IT and revenue cycle teams to resolve them effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical, administrative, and technical teams to ensure Epic meets end-user and business requirements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for build, workflows, and support protocols.
Required Qualifications:
  • Epic Professional Billing Certification (current and active) required.
  • Additional Epic certifications such as Resolute Hospital Billing, Claims & Remittance, or Prelude/ADT are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of Epic systems experience, including configuration, build, and support.
  • Proven expertise in Epic build tools, including Hyperspace, Chronicles, and Radar dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of Epic master files, workflows, and reporting workbench.
  • Experience with physician support and clinical operations integration within Epic.
  • Familiarity with Epic's Single Billing Office model and best practices for unified billing processes.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create comprehensive workflow diagrams and technical documentation.
Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience building and supporting SBO models in Epic.
  • Background in change management and end-user training.
  • Understanding of KPIs and metrics for billing performance tracking within Epic.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance, reimbursement models, and payer requirements.
