Job Details
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Communications Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced communications infrastructure. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in electronics and telecommunications, particularly in field-based operations.
Our organization plays a critical role in supporting energy infrastructure across multiple regions, ensuring the safe and reliable transmission of essential resources. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex systems that support industrial operations and remote monitoring technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems including wireless data systems, SCADA, LAN cabling, and microwave communications.
- Support and maintain phone system infrastructure.
- Utilize specialized test equipment and software to diagnose and resolve system issues in the field.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Operate safely in outdoor environments and travel to various field locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience in the field.
- FCC license preferred.
- Network certification such as CCNA is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in telecommunications systems installation and maintenance.
- Experience with phone systems and microwave communications is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in using test equipment and diagnostic software.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be physically capable of working outdoors and safely operating a motor vehicle.
