Job Details

Job Title: Senior Big Data Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Uptown) or Chandler, AZ - 3 days onsite / 2 remote
Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Must Haves

  • Strong experience with MapR, Hortonworks, and Cloudera Data Platform

  • Hands-on with Dremio, JupyterHub, and AtScale

  • Skilled in cloud and container deployments (CDP, OCP)

  • Solid platform engineering, automation, and DevOps background

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills

  • Experience leading technical initiatives in enterprise environments

Desired

  • Cloudera/OpenShift/related certifications

  • Experience with enterprise data lake architecture & governance

Day-to-Day

  • Administer and support private-cloud data platforms (CDP, HWX, MapR)

  • Install, configure, and maintain Dremio, JupyterHub, and AtScale across clusters

  • Build POCs using CDP/OCP technologies

  • Deploy tools, troubleshoot issues, and remediate vulnerabilities

  • Serve as SME for development, testing, and implementation teams

  • Create automation scripts for configuration and maintenance tasks

  • Lead platform design, development, and testing efforts

  • Support modeling, simulation, and analytics workstreams

  • Maintain documentation and generate cluster usage/performance reports

  • Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and IT infrastructure teams to integrate tools and meet requirements
