Job: Senior Automation Architect

Location: Vancouver, BC(Onsite)

Duration/Term: Long Term Contract


Role Overview:

  • The QE Consultant SME will lead strategic transformation initiatives across enterprise-level quality engineering programs. This role demands deep expertise in modern QE practices, including automation, DevOps integration, AI-driven testing, and test data management. The SME will serve as a trusted advisor to delivery teams, product owners, and client stakeholders, driving engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define automation strategies and transformation roadmap
  • Evaluate and recommend scalable QE frameworks aligned with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Lead QE transformation programs, including SDET enablement, shift-left strategies, and CI/CD integration.
  • Define and track KPIs for test maturity, defect leakage, ROI, automation coverage, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed QE practices into product development lifecycles.
  • Conduct test maturity assessments (e.g., TMMi, ISTQB) and recommend improvement roadmaps.
  • Mentor QE engineers and consultants on best practices, tooling, and innovation.
  • Drive adoption of AI/ML-based testing, synthetic data generation, and zero-touch automation.
  • Lead POC for Pilot programs for new automation opportunity.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 15-18 years in IT with at least 8 years in QE consulting or transformation leadership.
  • Proven experience in transitioning legacy QA to modern QE models.
  • Hands-on expertise in automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Jmeter), CI/CD ( GitHub Actions), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and strong in languages such as Java, Python
  • Strong understanding of test data management, service virtualization, and observability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications in ISTQB, TMMi, or equivalent preferred.
  • Preferred Attributes
  • Experience working with global delivery teams and clients across domains.
  • Thought leadership in QE strategy, innovation, and tooling.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance, performance engineering, and security testing.
