Lead SailPoint Developer
Location: Rockville or Northern, VA
Duration: 12+ months
REQUIREMENT: This role requires BOTH strong SailPoint administration/development AND hands-on Java programming experience. These skills must go together - SailPoint expertise without Java development capability will not be considered.
Role Overview:
- Leads enterprise IAM initiatives from planning through implementation
- Develops custom Java-based solutions within SailPoint IdentityIQ/IdentityNow
- Builds and maintains AWS/Azure cloud access automation using Python/PowerShell
- Manages complex access provisioning/deprovisioning workflows
- Partners with security and compliance teams on governance frameworks
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Lead SailPoint Developer/Lead or Architect with 5-10+ years experience who has:
- Led IAM implementations in enterprise environments
- Developed custom Java solutions within SailPoint
- Experience in Information Security field (preferred)
- Track record of successful team leadership
Required Technical Skills (Non-negotiable):
- 5-10+ years SailPoint IdentityIQ hands-on experience including:
- Custom Java rule development
- Connector development and customization
- Workflow configuration
- Role modeling and certification campaigns
- 5+ years Java development (not just scripting - actual application development)
- 2+ years AWS IAM with hands-on policy creation and automation
- Python scripting for automation and integrations
- Active Directory/Azure AD administration and integration
Required Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Proven team leadership experience with examples of successfully leading technical projects
- Mentor junior engineers on SailPoint development, IAM architecture, and security best practices
- Strong communication skills - must be able to explain complex IAM concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Project management experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate across multiple teams simultaneously
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:
- Writing and modifying Java code within SailPoint for custom business logic
- Designing and implementing cloud access automation solutions
- Leading cross-functional teams on IAM transformation projects
- Troubleshooting complex identity issues across hybrid environments
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation for audit purposes
