Controls Development Engineer
Job Details
A recognized services company is seeking an experienced Controls Development Engineer, with strong expertise in Beckhoff PLC programming, to support an ongoing project. You will work in parallel with an existing resource to accelerate development and integration efforts.
***This is a short-term engagement, with possible extension. Initial contract duration is 6 weeks.***
Responsibilities:
- Program and configure Beckhoff PLCs to support project deliverables
- Develop and implement communication between the Beckhoff control system and the client's onboard computer
- Work with the ADS (Automation Device Specification) protocol to ensure robust and reliable data exchange
- Collaborate with internal engineers and client teams to align system interfaces and troubleshoot issues
- Contribute to documentation of design, code, and integration processes
Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with Beckhoff PLC programming
- Strong understanding of the ADS communication protocol
- Experience with Structured Text programming
- Experience in automation systems and PLC-to-computer communication interfaces
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other developers and stakeholders
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
