Currently, we are searching for an IT Specialist to join our team in Mescalero, NM in a full-time, on-site capacity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain server and network infrastructure in alignment with IHS standards
- Support hardware, operating systems, and applications that integrate with the EHR/RPMS systems
- Perform daily system monitoring, verify integrity and availability of all hardware and key processes, and ensure successful completion of scheduled tasks
- Apply operating system patches, upgrades, and configuration changes as needed
- Conduct regular system backups and ensure secure storage and recovery processes
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and security permissions
- Prepare bi-weekly written progress reports and communicate technical updates to the Government COR
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate or improve system administration processes
- Provide training and end-user support as required to ensure effective system utilization
- Work independently, adhering to established IHS policies, schedules, and performance expectations
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, network support, or healthcare IT environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting Windows-based infrastructure, servers, and applications
- Experience supporting or administering EHR/RPMS or comparable federal healthcare information systems
- Proficiency in system installation, configuration, backup, and maintenance
- Strong understanding of security protocols, system monitoring, and data protection standards
- Ability to develop and maintain system documentation and configuration procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical users
- Demonstrated leadership, independence, and customer service skills
- Ability to pass federal background investigation requirements (P.L. 101-630, Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Act)
- Regular and predictable attendance
