Location: San Diego, CA ( 100% onsite. No Exceptions - 5 days a week onsite)

Overview

We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Data Solution Architect with over 15 years of experience in the data domain to lead enterprise-wide data strategy, modernization initiatives, and support the evolution of AI-driven capabilities. This role is pivotal in shaping our customer data ecosystem, enabling scalable, secure, and intelligent data solutions that align with business goals and future innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Data Strategy & Architecture
    • Define and execute enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.
    • Establish data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Data Modernization & Transformation
    • Lead modernization efforts including migration from legacy systems to cloud-native data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
    • Design and implement data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming architectures.
    • Drive adoption of modern data technologies such as Delta Lake, Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, etc.
  • AI & Advanced Analytics Enablement
    • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to ensure data architecture supports model training, deployment, and monitoring.
    • Design data pipelines optimized for AI workloads, including feature stores and model-ready datasets.
    • Provide hands-on support in integrating AI solutions into business processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
    • Partner with business, engineering, and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
    • Mentor data engineers and architects, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
    • Present architectural vision and roadmaps to executive leadership and technical teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, and strategy.
  • Proven track record in executing enterprise data strategies and modernization programs.
  • Experience with AI/ML data enablement and familiarity with tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and data orchestration tools
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to influence across levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer).
  • Familiarity with data mesh, data fabric, and emerging architectural paradigms.
  • Background in regulated industries manufacturing is a plus.
