Full-time position available with the General Services Department, IT Division located at 1111 Locust
Salary Range: $6,489-$9,734/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.*Telework available after 6 month probationary period.

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 5 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience. Preference given for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Enterprise Permitting and Licensing (EPL) systems experience.

  • Supervises the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Enterprise Permitting and Licensing Systems.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees.
  • Ensures that the enterprise GIS systems (ESRI software, enterprise ArcSDE database, custom tools, mapping sites, and applications) are running according to established service level agreements (SLA s).
  • Supervises support staff who will maintain base GIS data layers
  • Provides tools, access, support, and provides training to user departments in maintenance of specialized data layers.
  • Ensures that metadata is maintained for all layers in the enterprise GIS database.
  • Supervises the development of tools, scripts, maps, ArcSDE and web-based mapping applications, viewers, and other customizations or configurations as requested by customers.
  • Develops interfaces to other systems that utilize GIS information, including addresses.
  • In support of the Enterprise systems, including Enforcement and Enterprise Permitting and Licensing, the IT Supervisor will ensure that enterprise software systems are running according to established SLAs.
  • Aids in troubleshooting, and case resolution to enterprise system users, and ensures that production systems are operating efficiently.
  • Ensures that patches, updates, and system upgrades are applied to maintain system compliance, security, and keep systems up to date.
  • Maintains and updates user access and security roles based upon Department approvals.
  • Works with product vendors to develop a strategic plan for future use of system products and services.
