Job Title: Windows VMware Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Windows VMware Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize our virtualized Windows server environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies, Windows Server administration, and enterprise infrastructure support. This role involves troubleshooting, performance tuning, provisioning, and collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to ensure stability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, administer, and maintain VMware vSphere / ESXi environments.

  • Install, configure, and manage Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) systems.

  • Provision and deploy virtual machines, templates, snapshots, and resource pools.

  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and firmware updates.

  • Monitor system performance and optimize virtualization resources.

  • Manage vCenter, clustering, HA/DRS configurations, storage networks, and virtual switching.

  • Troubleshoot VMware and Windows infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.

  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and replication operations (Veeam / SRM / Site Recovery preferred).

  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, standard procedures, and infrastructure diagrams.

  • Collaborate with security and network teams to ensure compliance and availability.

  • Provide on-call support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 3 7+ years of experience as a Windows System Engineer or VMware Engineer.

  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion.

  • Proficiency in Windows Server administration (DNS, DHCP, AD, Group Policy, IIS).

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.

  • Understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS).

  • Familiar with networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, firewalls).

  • Experience with backup/DR tools (Veeam, SRM, or similar).

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • VMware VCP, MCSA/MCSE, or Azure/AWS certification is a plus.

  • Experience with Hybrid environments (Azure / AWS / VMware Cloud).

  • Knowledge of patching tools (SCCM, WSUS, Intune, etc.).

Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
