Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Workday Payroll Specialist to join our HRIS/Payroll team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, processing, and supporting payroll activities using Workday HCM while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong knowledge of payroll processes, reporting, integrations, and a high level of accuracy in handling sensitive employee data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing within Workday Payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • Configure and troubleshoot payroll-related processes, calculations, and integrations in Workday.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Time & Attendance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports to ensure accurate results.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for leadership and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
  • Support year-end activities including W-2, 1099, and tax filings.
  • Provide Workday payroll expertise during system updates, enhancements, and projects.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of payroll experience with hands-on knowledge of Workday Payroll.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance.
  • Experience with Time & Attendance systems (e.g., Symplr, Kronos, ADP, or similar) preferred.
  • Proficiency in payroll reconciliations, reporting, and audits.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
