Job Summary

The Director of Data Quality and Governance will manage TriWest's data quality and governance program and ensure enterprise data assets meet business requirements, stakeholder needs, and are compliant with regulatory and contract requirements. The Director of Data Quality and Governance works closely with other leaders within the organization to develop and implement data governance and quality strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information System, Business Data Analytics, Business or related degree or equivalent experience
U.S. Citizenship
Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defensive (DOD)
5+ years of management over data collection, data management, or data governance programs. Experience designing, developing and implementing related programs
People leadership experience to include hiring, training, coaching and performance management of leadership staff
Proficiency in the architecture of modern data stacks (ingestion, orchestration, storage, transformation, visualization, etc.)
Ability to work with Legal and Compliance teams regarding data quality and governance recommendations on relevant topics related to cyber law
5+ years of experience using complex SQL in SQL Servicer or Oracle environments

Preferred:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Data Science or related field Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, or governance relevant to cybersecurity
Knowledge of intelligence gathering principles, policies, procedures including legal authorities and restrictions

Key Responsibilities

Create and oversee Data Quality and Governance practice across TriWest data operations in support of the VA and DHA contractual obligations including the management of how data quality is reviewed, reported and addressed for intake, warehousing and reporting of data.
Work closely with the Director of Data Services and the Director of Data Management in support of their operational data workflows as they relate to data quality and governance.
Develop and implement data governance and quality strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives. This may involve identifying key data quality metrics, developing data governance policies and procedures, and implementing programs to improve data quality and compliance for the organization.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the data quality and governance department, including managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing process improvements.
Conduct data quality assessments to identify potential data quality issues, including data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Based on the results of the assessments, they develop data quality improvement strategies to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Develop data governance policies and procedures to ensure that data is managed in a compliant and consistent manner throughout the organization.
Collaborate with other internal teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to ensure that the data governance and quality program is consistent with other organizational goals and objectives.
Manage relationships with third-party vendors who support the data governance and quality program, such as data quality software vendors or data management service providers.
Ensure data governance and quality program complies with all regulatory requirements, including those related to data privacy and security.

*Annual base salary for Colorado, Hawaii and Washington State residents: Approx. $180,000 depending on experience*
