The Strategic Aerospace Department Office of the Director provides guidance and direction to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers that provides cutting edge engineering development services to the USAF.
Objectives of this Role:
- Lead Development of advanced proven Physics-based AI/ML algorithms/models.
- Support innovating/cutting edge research in the areas of AI as applied to System and or UAS/Avionics subsystems.
- Be the system architect for AI development.
- Manage and Lead a multidisciplinary staff (scientists, analysists and engineers) to delivery cutting edge AI solutions to programs.
- Write proposals, articles, and attend conferences.
- Train and mentor junior AI staff.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Lead Solutions for AI systems and embedded Avionics systems and subsystems.
- Lead Solutions for Aircraft AI/ML sensor fusion.
- Review AI/ML Architectures/algorithms to verify/validate it meets integrated design requirements that have been developed by new- mid level AI staff.
- Manage all AI progress on projects and research.
- Lead Integration with a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop AI related hardware.
Requirements:
- Requires a Masters or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Systems Engineering, Physics or directly related degree field with a focus on UAS, Avionics, AI, and or ML.
- Advanced degrees will be considered in lieu of some years of experience.
- 12+ years: Lead Development of firmware for AI solutions
- 12+ years: Machine Learning as applied to Data Science and technology.
- 12+ years: Leading AI and other software using Python, Tensor Flow, Keras, and PyTorch.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
