Job Description Summary
Job Summary
The Field Service Engineer provides customer site support for all products within their assigned area of responsibility. The FSE serves as the technical liaison between the customer and manufacturing operations. They are responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment on-site and returning it to operational status as quickly as possible while minimizing service costs. This position requires the ability to work independently or in a team environment, must have strong communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers at various levels.

Job Description

Responsibilities
Assist customers with troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation systems, electrical components, motors, generators, pumps, valves, filters, and other associated equipment.
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Technical Support, etc.) to resolve complex product issues/problems.
Provide feedback to Engineering regarding equipment problems, quality issues, and suggestions for product improvements.
Communicate with management on new technology and products being introduced into the field.
Participate in activities related to CAPA investigations including root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventative measures.
Interact regularly with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction with GE products and services.
Review user manuals and provide input regarding accuracy and clarity prior to publication.
Train customers on the use of our products and perform installation and commissioning activities when required.
Provide training sessions for end users on the features and applications of GE products.
Travel to customer sites for installation, training, and servicing of instruments and equipment.

Qualifications
Associates Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET) or equivalent experience.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in medical device industry preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and decision making abilities.
Effectively manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
Ability to function autonomously with little direct supervision.
Self-motivated to plan, organize, and prioritize assigned activities.
Ability to read schematics and interpret drawings.
Demonstrate basic computer literacy.
