Job Description Summary
The lead Infrastructure Engineer is an integral part of the Grid Solutions Service Delivery Team responsible for enabling the digital transformation of utility operations. In this role, the successful candidate will design reuseable, cost effective, secure infrastructure automation that delivers targeted customer outcomes based on a range of GE software products and technologies. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with service delivery architects and develop repeatable code that delivers just-in-time infrastructure resources under using a scalable architecture framework.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Enterprise Infrastructure Automation Engineering

  • Design, develop and, document automation that provisions enterprise IT infrastructure solutions based on common re-usable code scaffolding.
  • Build automation code frameworks that provisions and deploys enterprise infrastructure as outlined by infrastructure architects.
  • Design reuseable automation processes that delivers and manages enterprise IT assets.
  • Work with infrastructure architects to develop reuseable hybrid infrastructure designs in the Cloud & On-premises for repeatable deployments across customers.

DevOps Leadership
  • Implements standard CICD delivery automation that simplifies and accelerates project execution which reduce solution variability and ongoing support costs for GE and its customers by simplifying and accelerating project execution.
  • Implements the automation engineering DevOps plan based upon a current vs. future state using standard work design templates.
  • Follows the research and evaluation of new and emerging technologies, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities to for multiple teams or complex scenarios.
  • Participate and lead technical workshops internal and external as required.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • At least four (4) years' experience in an enterprise IT organization that includes infrastructure engineering
  • Certifications in AWS

Desired Characteristics
  • Certification in Azure strongly preferred
  • Strong level of experience working with scripting languages: Windows PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, YAML
  • Experience with automating in cloud hosting platforms: AWS, Azure, Windows
  • Experience with server OS technologies: Linux & Windows
  • Experience using automation development platforms: Ansible Automation Platform (Tower), AWX, Jenkins

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $96,800SD - $145,200USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This posting is expected to close on 12/06/2025.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 115% or 120% of salary in certain areas.
