About the Opportunity
We are partnered with a Fortune 100 insurance company driving large-scale infrastructure modernization. The Network Tools and Automation Architect will lead the design and implementation of automation strategies to improve performance, scalability, and reliability across global branch, data center, and cloud environments. This is a high-impact role that will shape the organization s network automation roadmap and define next-generation capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Architect & Standardize: Design and enforce enterprise-wide automation standards, blueprints, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies.

  • Strategic Leadership: Serve as the principal architect for automation strategy, creating multi-year roadmaps in alignment with business goals.

  • Network Evolution: Lead architectural decisions ensuring automation is embedded from the outset of design.

  • Automation Development: Build and optimize automation workflows with Python, Ansible, Terraform, and SDN controllers, applying modern DevOps practices (testing, reviews, documentation).

  • Validation & Governance: Implement frameworks for pre/post change validation, drift detection, automated remediation, and CI/CD pipelines with proper controls.

  • Collaboration: Partner with network architects, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions enabling intent-based networking and zero-touch provisioning.

  • API & Integration: Develop APIs and integration frameworks to enable programmatic consumption of network services.

  • Analytics & Optimization: Leverage telemetry, AI-driven analytics, and AIOps for capacity planning, anomaly detection, and proactive network optimization.

  • Continuous Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies, create proof-of-concepts, and provide executive-level recommendations.

  • Mentorship & Leadership: Serve as SME for network automation, guiding project teams, mentoring engineers, and building competency frameworks.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 10+ years of enterprise networking experience.

  • 7+ years specializing in network automation.

  • Deep expertise in Python, Ansible, Terraform, APIs, and automation frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Nautobot, HP Network Automation (HPNA), Juniper Mist, Palo Alto ADEM, Ansible Tower, ServiceNow

    • Source-of-truth platforms (Nautobot, NetBox) and GitOps workflows

    • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)

    • Telemetry, observability, AIOps, and predictive analytics platforms

  • Strong knowledge of modern networking protocols, overlays, and multi-protocol automation.

  • Experience designing automated testing frameworks, rollback mechanisms, and visualization dashboards.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.

  • Cisco, Juniper, and DevNet certifications are a plus.
