Description
Supporting core innovative IT services for OMH data science initiatives, the senior IT systems administrator will own responsibly for critical cloud-hosted platforms and systems. The administrator will coordinate with senior IT, risk management and business leadership to design and effectively leverage the services. Technical processes include administration of transformed cloud-based network and system services; orchestration of system monitoring, alerting and audit functions; addressing service updates including configurations needed to support new data exchange connections; and compliance assessment, remediation and reporting. Candidate will collaborate with data science, development and other IT staff to ensure stable support teams for high availability of highly regulated data systems. Production system change support and emergency response requires off-hour and weekend availability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Configure network and system resources in multiple AWS Virtual Private Cloud environments for efficiency and cost effectiveness
- Work with service developers to document business and communication needs, then architect and develop solutions to meet these needs in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
- Perform coordinated upgrades to services
- Configure, document and monitor data exchange connections
- Leverage existing and dedicated shared solutions to realize a blend of security and efficiency
- Develop and support data exchange and integrity processing using Linux-based tools
- Manage support and vendor communications
Min Quals
- At least 3 years professional experience architecting healthcare data processing systems
- At least 1 year full time professional experience supporting multiple production AWS workloads
Preferred Quals
- At least 1 year experience managing production AWS EKS workloads
- At least 1 year administering production AWS infrastructure as code using Terraform
- At least 1 year administering production Kubernetes workloads using helm charts
- AWS Security Solution Specialist certification
- At least 1 year experience developing security and systems monitoring solutions such as ELK, EFK or OpenSearch for production cloud and traditional services
