Desktop Support Specialist
Location: New York, NY (Onsite 5 days/week; occasional travel to Stamford, CT once A month)
Type: Full-Time - 6 month contract to hire
Pay: $34-$37/hr
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team and provide exceptional Level 2 support in a fast-paced, executive-heavy environment. This role is critical to ensuring smooth operations for our NYC office.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years supporting Windows OS (7 & 10), hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices
  • 5+ years of O365 support experience
  • Hands-on break/fix experience; comfortable supporting users face-to-face and remotely (VPN)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; polished professionalism required
  • Prior experience supporting executives preferred
  • Nice to Have: Active Directory, Windows 10, enterprise desktop support experience

Key Responsibilities
  • End User Support (30%)
    • Respond to and resolve Level 2 support tickets
    • Document technical notes for escalations
    • Communicate IT updates to internal customers
  • PC Support & Maintenance (30%)
    • Deploy and configure PCs for new hires
    • Train employees on hardware/software usage
    • Perform upgrades and troubleshoot hardware/software issues
    • Coordinate repairs and maintain inventory
  • Software Support (10%)
    • Assist with post-deployment issues
    • Support local/regional software and upgrades
  • Projects & Team Collaboration (10%)
    • Participate in IT initiatives and testing
    • Ensure compliance with SLAs and OLAs
  • Network & Print Server Maintenance (5%)
    • Manage backups, printers, and networked devices
  • VoIP Phone Support (5%)
  • Legal Compliance Support (5%)

Additional Details
  • Work Environment: Executive-heavy NYC office; polished professionalism required
  • Travel: One day every month to Stamford, CT
  • Business Impact: Backfill for a team member who relocated

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
