Job Details

DPP is seeking a Server Engineer - Disaster Recovery Support for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Work arrangement:
  • Onsite in Columbia, SC.
  • W2 position; 12 months
  • Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance (Public Trust).
Position summary:
  • Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Server Management: Administer and maintain AIX and Linux servers, ensuring optimal uptime and performance.
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) Readiness:
    • Coordinate and participate in DR planning meetings with customers.
    • Lead and troubleshoot during DR exercises, ensuring smooth execution.
    • Maintain DR preparedness through regular testing and documentation.
  • Hardware Lifecycle Management:
    • Monitor and manage hardware end-of-life (EOL) schedules.
    • Oversee hardware renewals and replacements to maintain system integrity.
Required technologies:
  • Network troubleshooting
  • AIX and Linux Server management
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with Datacenter Operations.
  • Familiarity with VMware environments.
Minimum required work experience:
  • 8 years of server or other job-related experience.
Required education/equivalencies:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
  • OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
  • OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 12 years without a degree)
Team environment
  • Join a dedicated team of 3 professionals focused exclusively on supporting and maintaining systems for contingency and disaster recovery purposes.
  • Participate in at least 4 DR exercises annually, including one 24/7 audited event.
