Buyer and Planner essential tasks:
- Plans and monitors material flow through production to maintain proper inventory levels.
- Handles shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials and supplies.
- Sources inventory and non-inventory items and coordinates with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Places purchase orders for indirect goods and services to meet business needs.
- Collaborates with internal teams, including finance and accounting, to support purchasing and month-end inventory processes.
- Works with the Quality department to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supports continuous improvement efforts and ensures employee training is completed and documented.
Qualifications:
- 6-9 years of experience with a BA or 4-7 years with an MBA, preferably in purchasing or procurement.
- 2-4 years of experience with SAP or a similar ERP system and strong MRP planning knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and skilled in data analysis to support fast, informed decision-making.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high sense of urgency.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and navigate escalation paths internally and externally.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle competing demands effectively.
