Job Details

Summary
We are seeking an Information Security Engineer responsible for establishing and executing security program directives, security policy development, and enforcement. Strong experience in information security best practices is required. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to drive tasks to completion independently, and able to learn new skills on the job as project requirements expand.
Responsibilities
  • The Information Security Engineer will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
  • Work with senior management to provide guidance on information security topics, provide recommendations, and publish guidelines and policy.
  • Review system and application design to ensure security is in accordance with Board Policy.
  • Work with CPS managers to assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
  • Work with system administrators and application developers to secure, monitor, and validate their environment's security.
  • Establish and execute information security program directives.
  • Architect and engineer new security systems; evaluate technical designs and work with appropriate personnel and vendors to coordinate upgrades and maintenance to the Board's IT infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience with information security technologies and operational practices in large enterprises.
  • 5 years of experience in the information security field.
  • 3 years of experience in large heterogeneous enterprise-level IT organizations.
  • 5+ years of experience in the information technology field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to conduct and manage security investigation and forensic analysis for IT security events and incidents.
  • Perform vulnerability scans, configure vulnerability scanning hardware/software, and produce audit reports.
  • Expert understanding of TCP/IP and how it is used by modern applications and systems.
  • Design and manage new and existing security systems.
  • Assist technical staff in securing their systems and application environments.
  • Assist in the development of new security initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
