Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior MDM Developer/Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of our Master Data Management solutions using IBM InfoSphere MDM. This hybrid role requires deep technical expertise and strong architectural vision. You will be responsible for the entire MDM data lifecycle, including ingestion, golden record creation, data quality management, governance workflows, and secure data consumption, ensuring the highest level of data trust across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

1. MDM Architecture & Data Modeling

  • Design and implement logical and physical data models within IBM InfoSphere MDM to support complex business entities (e.g., Customer, Product, Vendor).
  • Lead the strategy for extending the default IBM MDM data model and defining relationship models.
  • Define and configure the core MDM architecture, ensuring optimal scalability and performance for both batch and real-time processing.

2. Data Ingestion & Integration

  • Develop robust integration patterns (Batch, Real-time APIs) to ingest data from diverse source systems into the MDM hub, focusing on how data gets into MDM.
  • Design and implement API endpoints (SOAP/REST) and ETL wrappers to facilitate seamless data onboarding and synchronization.

3. Matching, Linking & Golden Record Management

  • Configure and fine-tune the Probabilistic Matching Engine (PME) or deterministic matching rules to identify duplicates with high precision.
  • Define complex Survivorship and Precedence rules to automate the creation of the "Golden Record" (Best Version of Truth) within MDM.
  • Analyze matching outcomes to continuously optimize algorithms and minimize manual intervention.

4. Data Stewardship & Issue Resolution

  • Customize and configure the IBM Stewardship Center (ISC) or native stewardship UIs, outlining how data stewardship works.
  • Design workflows for Task Management, enabling Data Stewards to efficiently review and resolve suspect duplicates and potential linkages.
  • Implement exception handling processes that route unresolved data issues and validation errors to the correct user groups for manual remediation, defining how users correct unresolved issues.

5. Data Quality & Consumption

  • Implement data quality standardization, cleansing, and validation rules (using IBM QualityStage or native Java classes) within the MDM transaction stream, focusing on data quality and improvements.
  • Design publication mechanisms (Notification framework, Kafka, JMS) to syndicate Golden Records to downstream consuming applications, outlining how data gets consumed from MDM.
  • Utilize advanced SQL scripting for data analysis, profiling, and backend verification.

6. DevOps, Monitoring & Platform Administration

  • Automation & CI/CD: Drive the adoption and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for MDM code and configuration.
  • Version Control: Utilize GitHub or similar industry-standard version control systems for managing all MDM artifacts and custom code.
  • Monitoring: Configure and leverage NewRelic to establish critical alerts, track key MDM performance indicators, and monitor system health.
  • Platform Administration: Execute routine IBM MDM platform administration tasks, including patching, configuration management, and performance tuning.
  • Incident Management: Act as a technical escalation point (Service for incident management) for Severity 1 and Severity 2 issues and conduct thorough Incidents root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring production problems.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7 8 years of hands-on experience in Master Data Management.
  • IBM MDM: At least 5 years specifically focused on IBM InfoSphere MDM (Standard/Advanced Edition) development, customization, and deployment.
  • Technical Stack:
    • Deep expertise in Java/J2EE development (OSGi bundles, Extensions, Additions) for MDM customization.
    • Strong proficiency in SQL with proven ability to write complex queries for data analysis and verification.
    • Expertise in data modeling (logical/physical) within the MDM context.
  • Platform Operations: Demonstrated experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD tools, GitHub, and production monitoring tools like NewRelic or equivalent.
  • Concepts: Solid understanding of data governance principles, data stewardship workflows, and data lineage.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience integrating MDM with other IBM tools (e.g., Information Governance Catalog, Watson Knowledge Catalog).
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Certifications in IBM InfoSphere MDM.
