Job Details

Location & Work Arrangement

  • City, State: Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Requires reporting to the Indianapolis office at least monthly and attending ad hoc in-person staff meetings. Must be local to Indianapolis).
  • Contract: This is a Contract position.
  • Mode of Interview: Webcam only.

Key Duties and Technical Environment

The Data Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for assigned data sources, driving data quality and reporting for grant deliverables and program areas.

1. Data Curation and Quality

  • Data Wrangling: Responsible for transferring raw data, and performing wrangling, cleaning, and validating agency data sources with minimal guidance.
  • Data Quality Checks: Conduct data quality checks to ensure the validity and cleanliness of datasets prior to their use in analysis and reporting.
  • SQL Queries: Demonstrated experience with data queries and transformations (including cleansing and standardizing) with SQL.

2. Analysis and Reporting

  • Programming: Demonstrated experience with SAS and either R or Python for data cleaning, running descriptive statistics, and full analyses.
  • Analysis: Conduct general analysis, contribute to complex analysis, and serve as project lead for specific data analysis projects as assigned.
  • Statistical Techniques: Interpret data from multiple sources using a variety of analytical techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to data mining and complex statistical methodologies.
  • Visualization: Experience using Tableau for data visualization is highly desired.

3. Public Health Expertise & Collaboration

  • Epidemiology: Working knowledge of epidemiological methods, study design, and analysis, with an understanding of both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop novel ways of using and reporting out data.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to program areas for the creation of reports and grant deliverables.
  • Leadership: Oversee and review projects completed by associate analysts, as requested.
