As a Cloud Engineer, you will be providing operational support for all elements of our Microsoft Azure environment. You will also play a key role in modernization efforts including adoption of new Microsoft cloud-based infrastructure, platform, and data technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and administering the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security
  • Designing, developing, and implementing highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure
  • Analyzing existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
  • Migrating existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions
  • Managing security and access controls of cloud-based solutions
  • Developing infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments.
  • Developing and implementing policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Supporting cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.
  • Ensuring all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards.
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address and resolve technical escalations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of Azure Cloud experience.
  • 1+ year of enterprise host systems administration experience, host configuration management, and production support.
  • Experience with enterprise host system installations; including issues such as environmental, power management, space management, density, cable routing, etc.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Working toward relevant host systems certifications are preferred, such as: MS Azure, AWS, A+ Security, Linux+, VCP, CCA, Microsoft 365, HP ASE, MCP, MCTS, IBM Certified System Administrator (AIX, iSeries, WebSphere), VMWare System or any other related Certification.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure-specific services, including Data Bricks, Service Bus, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Azure Virtual Networking, Identity Governance, Notification Hub, PIM, PrivateLink DNS, Private Endpoints
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory, specifically Conditional Access Policies, Role Based Access Control, and Privileged Identity Management
  • Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems
  • Experience scripting with PowerShell and Python
  • Competence in a wide range of IT skills including networking, systems administration, data protection, information security and CI/CD tooling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail
  • Technical proficiency in associated disciplines including Microsoft 365, identity management, systems engineering, networking, security, application development preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Zero Trust security principles and concepts preferred.
  • Ability to lead small projects with minimal oversight preferred.
  • Ability to develop runbooks for and train service desk and operations teams preferred.
  • Ability to formulate and effectively present process and technology improvement ideas preferred.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, both in-person and remotely
  • Experience in Healthcare, Insurance or other regulated sectors preferred.
