As part of the digital creative agency, the Digital Content Lead will play a pivotal role in transforming complex government benefits programs and improving the total experience across all communication channels, with a specific focus on conducting content audits, arranging content plans, and applying plain language principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Research, gather and synthesize scientific and policy information translating that information into understandable, audience appropriate communication products. - Understand, interpret, identify and select appropriate and scientifically accurate and understandable images and graphics to enhance communication products on a regular basis usable by a variety of audiences. - Provide written and oral communications to support the client in relaying clear, concise, and understandable information to various target audiences. - Develop and edit audience-appropriate reports, news articles, technical publications, brochures, periodicals, speeches, audio-visual materials, profiles, feature stories and Q & As for online, social media and printed content. - Write, coordinate and upload stories, videos, and pictures to government websites and social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. - Collaborate with other departments to ensure internal communications are accessible and meet corporate brand standards. - Test to ensure accessibility solutions are effective and successful. - Create and publish documentations, manuals, and additional forms of publications. - Oversee complex team and department projects and processes; coach, review, and delegate work to lower level professionals. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in related field. - 7-10 years of relevant professional experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our clients to plan and develop content for multi-channel digital campaigns for government programs.
  • Write campaign content across all relevant platforms and channels. This includes writing for web, mobile, video, email, SMS, chat, call scripts, IVR, and print materials.
  • Develop and manage client editorial guidelines for tone and style, and ensure they are followed.
  • Perform content audits and gap analyses to assess how well existing content is performing and determine what type of content is missing.
  • Manage planning, delivery, and quality of content and writing projects to meet business requirements for individual projects.
  • Research, gather, and synthesize health and human services program information and convert information into clear, concise, understandable, audience-appropriate communication products.
  • Review and edit project deliverables to ensure they apply plain language best practices, are consistent throughout, are free of grammar and spelling errors, and are at desired reading level.
  • Evaluate content effectiveness, develop content improvement strategies, and oversee projects with multiple content contributors.
  • Leverage research, personas, journey maps, and data to plan and develop content strategies and information architecture for websites and other digital products to meet client goals and end user needs.
  • Create and maintain content strategy documents, information architecture diagrams, content matrices, content roadmaps, and web content style guides.
  • Produce and refine content that is primed for search engine visibility and aligns with contemporary SEO guidelines.
  • Coach, review, and delegate the work of professionals who support the project.
  • Support several clients or project teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independently create project case studies, publications, marketing materials, and presentations.
  • Review processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement, change management.
  • Attention to detail; results-driven; demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and ability to work under high pressure situations.
  • Build relationships and grow trust with clients, stakeholders, other departments, and digital team.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • The Digital Content Lead will be able to work hybrid out of the Princeton office location at least three (3) days per week.

Additional Qualifications:
  • A portfolio demonstrating digital-first campaign experience is required.
  • Experience in (or knowledge of) health and human services programs required.
  • Experience with government clients is preferred.
  • Experience in technical writing and/or plain language writing and editing to plan, direct, design, and edit content is preferred.
  • Experience designing, planning, and delivering content projects using digital writing and editing best practices required (e.g., websites, mobile apps, web chat, etc.) required.
  • Knowledge of web content and development processes, best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Experience with cutting edge content management software and/or tools to maintain/search written print and digital program materials.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Experience Manager is required.
  • Experience working with Agile teams is preferred.
  • Experience developing search-optimized content is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
