Title: Associate Director Application Support Engineering

Job Duties: The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software

Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions.

The Application Support Engineering role specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to escalate and resolve technical support incidents and ensure the integrity of the Production systems supported.
  • Manage and direct deep analysis to identify potential failure points and implement controls to mitigate future failures.
  • Manage and direct analysis of multiple application alert trends, providing business impact and analysis to teams while recommending solutions to minimize future occurrences.
  • Ensure reviews of runbooks with stakeholders are executed according to stated policy requirements
  • Collaborate with Client Facing teams to provide answers to application issues
  • Oversee the fulfillment of requests from internal business operations users, including specific application functional queries, special and regulatory report runs, corrective updates, proactive data analytics.
  • Ensure team is responding to and recovering any alerts generated in the Production or Pre-Production environment.
  • Validate accuracy and timeliness of responses to requests for information
  • Coordinate the execution of Disaster Recovery scripts being implemented in response to planned and unplanned outages, ensuring appropriate steps are documented
  • Assign team members to participate in internal reviews and validations of support and Non-Functional Requirements during the development phase of an application
  • Schedule and track all cert renewals/service account password changes
  • Participate and approve "Stakeholder Engagement Tasks" of new products/applications as well as releases for existing applications.
  • Serve as point of contact for critical issues and escalate to appropriate teams as necessary while providing updates to management
  • Support an environment to ensure employees understand how their efforts contribute to overall business strategy
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team and specific deliverables, across global locations
  • Support the coaching, mentoring and development of team members
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
  • Provides accurate and timely information for all internal and external audit requests.
  • Must be available to work the shifts covering the 24 hour work day, assigning work, and following up on questions, based on the team schedule.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any) or related field and 8 years of experience in the job or related position. Prior education, training or experience to include:
  • Responsibility troubleshooting and supporting Mission Critical 24X7 applications with strict SLAs.
  • Experience working with highly regulated, financial systems.
  • Team and Project Management experience involving software development of mainframe, client server, and cloud based applications.
  • Experience working with Production scheduling systems incorporating complex internal and external dependencies.
  • Experience supervising and collaborating with global teams with shifts covering 24 hours.

LOCATION: Jersey City, NJ. Telecommuting may be permitted a few days a week. When not telecommuting, must report to DTCC's office in Jersey City, NJ.

SALARY: $189,592.00-$192,592.00 per year.
